Introducing Sewer Scope Inspections at Tiger Home & Building Inspections
Tiger Home & Building Inspections is proud to expand our services with professional sewer scope inspections, available throughout Connecticut.
A sewer scope inspection is one of the most valuable—and often overlooked—components of a thorough home inspection. Using a specialized camera system, we inspect the interior of the underground sewer line to identify issues such as root intrusion, blockages, broken pipes, aging materials, or improper connections. These are problems that can’t be seen during a standard home inspection, yet they can lead to costly and disruptive repairs if left undetected.
Why Sewer Scope Inspections Matter
Hidden sewer line problems can impact the safety, sanitation, and long-term durability of a home. Repairs can be several thousands of dollars, depending on severity. By adding a sewer scope inspection during the home-buying process, clients gain:
- Early detection of defects before they become emergencies
- Accurate budgeting for future repairs or replacements
- Peace of mind knowing the home’s waste system is functioning properly
A sewer scope is a small investment that helps avoid significant surprises, available for both home purchasers and homeowners.
Which Homes Should Be Scoped?
While any home can benefit from a sewer line inspection, some properties are especially strong candidates:
- Older homes (typically 25+ years), where materials like clay, cast iron, or Orangeburg pipe may be deteriorating underground.
- Vacant properties-long term vacancy such as “Flip” resales, seasonal/rental or estate properties
- Homes with large or mature trees near the sewer line, which can cause root growth into sewer lines
- Houses that have experienced slow drains, backups, or unexplained plumbing issues
- Buildings under construction, new construction or renovation- vehicle damage to pipes, construction debris in drains.
Add a Sewer Scope to Your Next Home Inspection. Sewer Scope service is also available to homeowners with concerns or just keeping up on their home maintenance.
As Connecticut’s trusted inspection company for over 30 years, Tiger Home & Building Inspections remains committed to providing the most comprehensive services to protect our clients’ investments. Having a sewer scope inspection is a simple way to gain valuable insight into a critical part of the home’s infrastructure.
